We are here again, December 2025. Another year is almost gone, and it has been a memorable one to say the least.

This past year has been a tsunami of events that have caused stress, anxiety, self-doubt, and self-reflection.

I have strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. I can handle situations or events in a very pragmatic way. This year, I faced challenges related to my business, family events, and my husband's job loss.

And accepting the fact that I have entered a whole new arena of ageism. Yes, we are in our mid-fifties, and we still have a great deal to offer society.

I have never cared how others viewed, nor did I conform to what society has told women should be. I have always been allergic to authority and the marketing tactics used on women.

However, for some reason, it bothered me this year, perhaps because reality has finally set in: yes, I am getting older.

That said, after taking time to reflect on what I want, I will not live by society's narrative. And neither should you. Be you, and live by your own terms. You only get one life, please don't waste it.

Live to Work and Eat to Live!

As the year is coming to an end, here are a few homework exercises you can do to make next year the year of You. Every day is a new day, and you can start now.

Don't do outdated New Year's Resolutions, but simple and realistic goals that are meaningful to you. Take time out of your busy schedule to organize your thoughts, dreams, and ideals to define who you want to be in this life.

Here we go!

Self-Reflection

What is self-reflection? According to the AI overview, it is a process of introspection, where you look inward to understand your core nature, purpose, and essence.

Instead of thinking about what you didn't accomplish or health and fitness goals this year, or why you worked more than you lived life or spent time with family and friends, take time to reflect on why you made the decisions that you made.

The point is to build a healthy 365 life that aligns with who you are as a person.

What do you want to accomplish next year?

During your self-reflecting process, think about what is important to you in this lifespan. How do you plan to accomplish those goals this time around?

Get off the hamster wheel because you are worth it. You deserve the life you have envisioned for yourself; the hard part is getting started.

Time keeps ticking as you are thinking. Make the change that you want before time runs out.

What do you want out of your life?

One of the most important questions you can ask yourself, and be really honest, what do I want out of my life? Are you living your true, authentic self, or are you living on autopilot?

Take a moment this month to reflect on your life and what you truly want and need. This process is scary because you have to identify who you are, including your strengths, weaknesses, beautiful imperfections, morals, beliefs, and everything else that makes you who you are, as well as the noise that runs rapidly in your brain.

If you are not happy with the trajectory of your life, don't make New Year's Resolutions or set unrealistic goals; instead, focus on making the upcoming new year the year of you!

Set realistic goals that align with what you really want and need out of your life, and breathe, focus, and conquer those goals this year.

Have an absolutely fabulous Holiday Season and Happy New Year!
